You Can Know God's Will

It is both easy and difficult to know God's will. His will can be immediate, or take many years to figure out. Although it may seem a mystery, if you listen, God will speak to you in amazing ways.

First of all, God speaks through His Word, the Bible. Everything we need for living can be found there. As you get to know God's Word, you will get to know God's will.

The Ten Commandments are rules for staying in God's will. They worked for Moses, and they still work for us. If you can love the Lord God with all your heart, you will not do any of the other commandments, at least not on purpose.

Many times, circumstances dictate the direction that we are to take. God will close some doors and open others so that we can take the right path. Every decision made can affect the rest of our lives.

If you think your life is an accident, you are wrong. The Scriptures say that God knew us before we were ever formed in our mother's womb. What you do matters to God. Everything.

Take a look at your life, and think about the moments, events, the details, and see how far you've come. Those "good things" weren't coincidences. You weren't just "lucky." If your heart has followed after God, then God has been leading you, and you have been doing His will, perhaps without even knowing it.

We must pray to know God's will after knowing what the Word says. In certain circumstances, we need to get Godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 states: where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

God has a plan for each of our lives, whether we follow it or not depends on us. One of the best indicators of being in God's will is the peace that He gives to our hearts.

So I pray for you today, that the peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds until the coming of the Lord.
