The end of May on the Jewish Calendar, Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks will be celebrated May 30 to June 1, 2017.
This feast celebrates the giving of the 10 Commandments to Moses on Mt. Sinai - pictured above.
On the Gregorian Calendar, Christians will celebrate Pentecost-when the Power of the Holy Spirit descended onto those 120 who were gathered in the Upper Room.
This was commanded by Jesus to the disciples to stay in Jerusalem until the promise would be given. They would receive power to be witnesses of the Kingdom of God to the whole world.
Flames of fire rested upon the disciples heads. Jesus had told the disciples that they would be baptized with fire when the Holy Ghost was poured out. Jesus would be the baptizer and they the recipients.
The Book of Acts tells us what happened after they received this power. Signs would follow those who believed enabling them to do the miracles Jesus performed and greater miracles than He did because He would be going to the Father.
Not only were they the only ones to receive this Baptism of Fire, but all who are believers in Christ are eligible to receive the same.
They received a supernatural language that they had not learned nor had before receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. The promise of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available today for those who seek and ask God for it. So, Beloved, take advantage of this promise today. Ask and you shall receive.
